Creating handmade blankets of all types for youth of all ages
and families in need
ABOUT US
OUR HISTORY
Alexia's Cozy Covers began in 2009 with a handful of volunteers who enjoyed making quilts, fleece, Afghans and other types of blankets.
We had a desire to share our creations with youth in need and initially our focus was 18-year old youth leaving foster care. Many of these youth leave with very few personal possessions and we wanted to let them choose their own handmade, new blanket that would give them some comfort during the often difficult transition to being on their own.
We soon became aware of other organizations that needed blankets. Our outreach expanded to include not only youth, but mothers, children and others in need in the greater mid-Willamette Valley area.
In 2012, we applied for and obtained 501(C)3 status (nonprofit charity) with the IRS.

OUR GOAL
Our goal is for each recipient to choose their own cozy cover to keep forever. Our prayer is that as they wrap themselves in their blanket, they will be reminded of God's love and protection for them and that we care about them.
